01

An unforgettable train odyssey

On 7 March 2019, Abduselam began a journey across the Indian subcontinent—from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on the Arabian Sea side to Bhubaneswar, Odisha, near the Bay of Bengal.

The 58-hour crossing was a personal challenge and a new way to experience solo travel. The train became a moving portrait of India’s scale and diversity, shared with passengers from every walk of life.

02

A country in motion

From crowded stations to long stretches of countryside, the diary and photographs capture the sights, sounds and encounters that defined the journey. The work invites viewers into India’s vibrant culture and layered history through the intimate rhythm of rail travel.
