A bridge between cultures
The exhibition “Let’s See Ethiopia” connected with students at Anjuman-I-Islam’s Kalsekar Technical Campus in Panvel, Navi Mumbai. Photography became a way to spark curiosity, evoke emotion and bridge the distance between different communities.

The curator and venue
Abduselam Ademnur’s connection to his homeland and belief in cultural exchange drove the project. The campus, with its commitment to education and cultural dialogue, offered a receptive setting for a new view of Ethiopia.

The impact
A carefully selected collection moved from highland landscapes to city life and intimate portraits. Informative captions gave context to each frame. The photographs challenged stereotypes, opened conversations and reminded viewers of the world’s interconnectedness.
The exhibition and accompanying presentation took place on 6 August 2016 at the AIKTC School of Architecture.
